Qualifying Event, No Insurance, & Appeal

Loss of Health Insurance Coverage
If you have a loss of insurance coverage during the year, please go to universityhealthplans.com/WFU and choose the Qualifying Event Enrollment Form on the left-side menu. Provide documentation to show loss of coverage.
No Health Insurance Coverage
Students with no insurance or insurance that does not meet the University’s criteria (even after applying for a waiver) will be enrolled in the Student Blue plan through the University. You may also qualify for support to assist with the cost. Reach out to Financial Aid at finaid@wfu.edu for information.
Students with Out-of-State Medicaid
Students who have non-NC Medicaid are required to enroll in the Student Health Insurance. You may also qualify for support to assist with the cost. Reach out to Financial Aid at finaid@wfu.edu for information.
Spring Termination
Students who do not return for the Spring semester are automatically terminated from the plan at the end of the Fall coverage period (December, 31). Students who no longer wish to be enrolled in the plan for the Spring semester may request termination of the Spring coverage by submitting the form at universityhealthplans.com/WFU. To opt-out for the Spring semester, students must be covered by a plan that meets the university’s criteria.
Student Insurance Program Appeal
You may submit an appeal of enrollment from 2/1 to 2/13. For details, contact University Health Plans at universityhealthplans.com/WFU.
